"So sings Mechanical Bride" ("Ainsi chante la mariée mécanique") is intended as a science fiction novel, based on excavations of a huge still factory built to the south of Chicago in the United States, the novel is a vivid testimony to the history of industrialization, from dreams to frustration, and its disastrous consequences for humanity. Sabine Gruffat raised the geological and historical past of this place, based on photos on the publications of the time, and then plunges us into the magic of your video images, in the heart of metamorphoses offering us a imaginary riddle of past and present, as well as a strong call for the respect for the life. Sabina Griffith - a multimedia artist, Master at the Art Institute of Chicago (The School of The Art Institute of Chicago), currently she is the Visiting Professor of Art, University of Missouri-Columbia. Her works photographs and installations are exhibited in the United States, including the MoMA, in Europe, The Gene Siskel Film Center, The Antimatter Festival of Underground Short Film and Video, Hull International Film Festival, The Chicago Underground Film Festival, Art in General in New York and several other galleries around the world.
